The appearance of this product provides an economical and accurate method for current detection in industrial, commercial, and communication systems. Allegro's acs710 device has a precise linear Hall sensor integrated circuit, and its copper current path is close to the chip surface. The applied current flows through the copper current path, while the analog output voltage of the Hall sensor IC linearly tracks the magnetic field generated by the external current. Due to the close proximity of the Hall element to the current being measured, this patented packaging method can maximize the accuracy of the ACS710.

Allegro's unique integrated screen technology provides high resistance to current conductor DV/dt signals and stray electric fields, ensuring low output voltage ripple and low bias drift in high-end high-voltage applications. The overcurrent voltage input (VOC pin) allows users to set the overcurrent fault criteria for the device. When the current flowing through the copper current path (between IP+and IP - pins) exceeds this standard, the open drain overcurrent fault pin will become a logic low state. The read-only program of the Acs710 internal linear Hall sensor IC ensures extremely accurate analog and digital output signals.




The typical copper path used for current detection has an internal resistance of 1 m Ω and very low power consumption. In addition, the current path is isolated from the input and output of the low-voltage sensor. In this way, the acs710 sensor IC series can be used for applications that require electrical insulation without the need for optocouplers or other high cost isolation technologies.
