An arc is an electrical breakdown of a gas that produces a continuous plasma discharge due to the current passing through a typically non-conductive medium, such as air. The temperature of the arc is very high, usually rising to several thousand degrees Celsius within a few microseconds. These materials and insulation materials are prone to melting, endangering the safety of the aircraft. In severe cases, more serious damage may occur, so an arc circuit breaker is needed. According to the formation mechanism of electric arcs, they can be divided into two types: good arcs and bad arcs. When electrical appliances are inserted or removed from the electrical system, a good arc is usually generated between the wires and the plug socket. Good arcs are acceptable, there is no need to stop them. Poor arc, also known as arc fault, is caused by insulation aging or insulation damage. The humid atmosphere and loose electrical connections can also lead to the generation of poor arcs. Defective arcs can be divided into two categories based on their location: series arcs and parallel arcs. 5.
