What are the impacts of a faulty current sensor? resolvent?

As an advanced detection device, current sensors are often used to detect current information and are applied in many industries. As mentioned earlierPhenomenon and causes of current sensor malfunctionSo, what are the impacts when such a practical current sensor malfunctions? How should we solve it specifically? Next, let's follow Weikewei Technology to learn more!

Different current sensors will experience different abnormal situations when they malfunction. Let's take a look at the specific impact and solutions below!

1、 Knock sensor

The knock sensor is directly installed on the cylinder, and due to the direct influence of temperature changes or vibrations on the engine block, it requires high reliability or stability. Its maintenance tool is a multimeter;

1. Fault impact

When the engine is running, connect the sensor wires, slowly increase the speed, and use the AC voltage range of the multimeter to measure. If the voltage value increases accordingly, it indicates that the sensor may be faulty;

When the engine is running, connect the sensor wires and gently tap the intake manifold with a small rubber hammer, while measuring the AC voltage range of the multimeter. If the voltage indication fluctuates, it indicates that the sensor has a fault;

2. Solution method

Place the ignition switch in the (OFF) position, remove the sensor connector after 10 seconds, and then place the ignition switch in the (ON) position. Use a multimeter to measure the DC voltage between the signal output and the circuit terminal on the wiring harness connector of the vehicle. The value should comply with the regulations (please refer to the maintenance manual for specific values), otherwise there may be a fault in the circuit;

2、 Speed sensor

The speed sensor is usually installed on the distributor or engine, and it can detect the angle of the crankshaft. Once a malfunction occurs, it will disrupt the operation of the ignition system, rendering the engine inoperable. Due to the fact that most speed sensors are magnetic pulse type, they can emit weak electrical signals, which can be detected using a multimeter or oscilloscope;

1. Fault impact

When measuring the rotation of the crankshaft with a multimeter in the AC voltage range, the output voltage of a high-performance speed sensor should be within the range of 1.5~3.0V. If there is no AC voltage input or the output voltage does not meet the requirements, it is considered that the sensor is damaged and should be replaced;

When the engine is not running, the sensor coil resistance can be checked. The inspection method is to remove the wire plug and measure the resistance with a multimeter in the range of 250~1500 Ω;

2. Solution method

If there is suspicion of poor contact between the internal wires of the sensor, the multimeter can be placed in the resistance range and connected to the sensor wires. Then, shake the wires to see if the multimeter pointer swings. If it swings, it indicates poor contact between the internal wires of the sensor and should be immediately eliminated;

The above is an introduction to the impact of current sensor failure brought to you by Weikewei Technology. Current sensors are used in various aspects of our lives, and when there is an abnormality in the current sensor, we can judge whether it has a fault situation by some of the situations it appears. Whether for personal product use or industrial production, current sensors are important key nodes. When it malfunctions, the impact is quite significant, so it is still necessary for us to master some judgment skills and solutions related to sensor faults.
