How to choose a circuit breaker correctly?

Circuit breaker, also known as air circuit breaker, will automatically disconnect the switch when the current exceeds the set current. Its main function is to protect the circuit from burning out due to excessive current. Today we will learn about the tips for purchasing circuit breakers!

Tips for selecting circuit breakers:

1. When choosing a circuit breaker, it should be selected from large to small. If you are using it for household purposes, you should consider whether it can carry the current of your home, including the total rated current of all places such as the living room, kitchen, bathroom, etc; If it is not used by writers, it is even more important to choose from large to small, so as to ensure that the switch can withstand larger currents and avoid frequent current short circuits.

2. Before making a purchase, it is important to understand your access switch and circuit switch. The access switch refers to the total rated current of the line from the main meter downstairs in your unit to your home. Only by knowing the load current in your home can you determine its rated current, which will give you more confidence when making a purchase.

3. After determining the total current at home, you can choose the model of the circuit breaker. The commonly used circuit breaker models include DZ47, DZ10, DZ5, DZ15, and DZ20, each representing a different current. Therefore, when selecting a switch, its model should also match it.

After understanding the three criteria for selecting circuit breakers, Weikewei will introduce the selection of circuit breakers for everyone.

Firstly, estimate the user's distribution power and select the main incoming switch.

The main switch of household distribution box generally adopts a two-stage circuit breaker, and the rated current of the switch needs to be determined according to the total power consumption of the household. It is recommended to refer to the standard. When the area is greater than or equal to; When the building area exceeds 150 square meters, the electricity load can be calculated at 40-50 W/square meter. Meanwhile, JGJ242-2011, Residential Electrical Building Design Code 6.3.2 stipulates that each residential unit should be equipped with a self recovering overvoltage and undervoltage protection device at the incoming line end.

Overvoltage (≥ 280V) and undervoltage (≤ 160V) can pose a threat to electrical equipment and personal safety, and self recovering overvoltage and undervoltage protection devices are capable of automatically detecting line voltage. When the overvoltage and undervoltage in the line exceed the specified values, they can automatically disconnect, and when the voltage in the line returns to normal, they can automatically close. E9's self-healing overvoltage and undervoltage release is a Schneider designed electrical safety guard specifically for civil buildings.

Step 2: Determine the number of circuits. Household electricity should be wired separately for lighting circuits, ordinary socket circuits, kitchen dedicated circuits, bathroom dedicated circuits, and each air conditioning circuit. This way, when one circuit fails, it does not affect the normal power supply of other circuits. It is recommended to use leakage protection circuit breakers for each individual circuit to prevent personal injury caused by leakage.

Lighting circuit: Generally, merging and setting up one circuit is sufficient. One lighting circuit should not have more than 25 lights. If there is a need for zone control, multiple circuits can be set up. In modern decoration, there are already many lighting fixtures that people may come into contact with. It is recommended to equip the lighting circuit with leakage protection products.

Ordinary socket circuit: The circuit can be divided according to the wiring method and the number of sockets set. A circuit should not have more than 10 sockets. If there are multiple computers, a circuit should not exceed 5 computers. When there are other large electrical equipment, additional circuits can be added. Recommend using 1P+N 30mA leakage protection products, with rated currents ranging from 16A-25A.

Kitchen and bathroom circuits: It is recommended to use separate circuits for power supply, with rated currents ranging from 20A-25A.

It is recommended to set up a separate circuit for each air conditioner, and the rated current is generally recommended to be 16-25A based on the performance of the air conditioner. Due to frequent incidents of outdoor mechanical and electrical injuries, the new version of the Civil Code recommends that wall mounted air conditioning circuits also be equipped with leakage protection products.

Backup circuit: 1-2 circuits

Step 3: Calculate the number of digits and select appropriate distribution boxes and wire distribution boxes: Each residential unit should be equipped with at least one home distribution box, installed in a convenient location for maintenance, and the bottom of the box should be no less than 1.6 meters above the ground.

Finally, I would like to recommend two types of circuit breakers to everyone. 1ETA circuit breaker; IIHydraulic electromagnetic circuit breaker. Friends who are just interested can click in to view the details of a circuit breaker.
