LEM HLSR Current Sensor - Alternative Solution - Weckway

On December 25, 2012, the world-renowned sensor expert Lem released the new HLSR series current sensor, which is a low-cost, high-performance solution that can replace parallel or optocouplers. The new HLSR sensor comes in five models with a current measurement of up to 50 amperes, which can meet various application requirements, such as industrial inverters, motor drivers, switching power supplies and uninterruptible power supplies, welding units, air conditioning and other special power supplies, Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) in household appliances and new energy systems, such as solar junction boxes and solar inverters.


Lyme's hlsr series sensors use open-loop Hall principle current measurement technology to measure AC, DC, or pulse currents with rated currents of 10, 20, 32, 40, or 50 arms. Lyme's professional and reliable open-loop Hall technology enables the new sensor to have a response time of only 2.5 μ s and very low zero and gain drift within the operating temperature range of -40 to+105 ° C.


The hlsr sensor provides an analog voltage output proportional to the primary current. In many applications, voltage is converted to a digital value through an analog-to-digital converter. LEM hlsr can set the internal reference voltage to 1.65 V or 2.5 V and provide special pins to connect external devices, such as A/D converters. Designers can choose to use external reference values ranging from 0.5 to 2.65 volts. The voltage reference value is the main feature of the latest ASIC technology. The designers of Lem products have applied it to their products. The accuracy of the hlsr series can reach ± 1% at+25 ° C and ± 3.4% at+125 ° C, with a bandwidth of 100kHz (-3dB). Lem offers two models of+3.3V or+5V single voltage power supplies.

The five models of the Lam hlsr series use the same packaging and housing design. The innovative appearance only occupies 387mm2 of PCB board, which is smaller than the resistor parallel scheme.

The packaging parameters meet the requirements of surface mount and through-hole mount, and can be connected to primary conductors, signals, and power supplies. The product weighs only 5.5G and has a height of less than 12mm.

The primary side and measurement circuit are highly isolated to ensure measurement safety, with long creepage distance and large electrical clearance (standard model 8mm, can be adjusted to 14mm according to customer requirements), CTI600

Hlsr has been CE certified and meets the EN50178 standard for industrial applications, with a five-year warranty provided.
