According to Kyodo News, on October 20th at around 4:45 pm, the AKM wafer factory at the Yagang Manufacturing Plant of Asahi Chemical Microelectronics Co., Ltd. (AKM), a subsidiary of Asahi Chemical Group, caught fire. Due to adverse reactions from firefighters near the fire scene, firefighting work was interrupted on the same day and continued on the 21st. The next day, the manufacturer announced that it would start at 9:30 pm. On the 21st, the factory responsible for manufacturing LSI (Large Scale Integrated Circuit, current sensor shutdown) was shut down due to a major fire.
