The US Department of Defense and the US Air Force collaborate to test autonomous technology of "smart sensors" empowered by artificial intelligence

Recently, the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) of the US Department of Defense has collaborated with the US Air Force to achieve intelligencesensorThe full spectrum development and testing of unmanned systems and artificial intelligence autonomous capabilities, with intelligent sensor systems integrated into unmanned aerial vehicles for the first time and completing flight missions. This test validated the concept of platform autonomy and accelerated CDAO's adoption of data, analysis, andartificial intelligenceTechnology. To further develop and validate the autonomous technology of intelligent sensors, CDAO has collaborated with the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory to develop a software package called the "brain" of intelligent sensors, which can autonomously control multiple sensors and perceive, infer, and report observation results; CDAO also collaborates with General Atomics to develop an autonomous platform framework that provides interoperability with other manned/unmanned systems of the Department of Defense.
